May 30, 2017Welcome to the White Mountain Hospice Foundation, Inc.
Impressed by the hospice care provided to their husband and father until his death, a local family formed the White Mountain Hospice Foundation in the mid-1990’s. The goal? To raise money for hospice patients in need.
Funding
Each year the family organizes a memorial golf tournament to help raise funds for the Foundation. Additionally, the Foundation accepts donations and holds at least one other fundraiser during the year.
In 2001, the Foundation became a non-profit corporation allowing all donations to be tax deductible. Tax ID: 86-1021883
Our Mission
The goal of the White Mountain Hospice Foundation is to support the hospice philosophy of care for terminally ill individuals and their families by providing financial and resource assistance not available elsewhere.
The Foundation is committed to helping fulfill special wishes that will enhance the quality of life for those that we serve.
Assistance Provided
Caring for a terminally ill loved one brings both emotional and financial challenges. Whether the person is a patient of Hospice or not, the Foundation helps provide for needs a family may have difficulty covering while caring for their loved one.
Requests for help come in many forms. It might be for assistance with utilities or groceries, replacing a refrigerator that quit, car repairs that need to be made, or transportation for relatives to visit their terminally ill family member.
These requests for help are reviewed at the monthly meeting of the Board of Directors or on an emergency basis as the need arises.
The volunteer Board of Directors works diligently to raise funds in order to continue providing help to these families in need.
The Board also strives to learn and understand the issues facing the terminally ill and their families, working closely with the nurses and social workers of Hospice.
