In this fun, friendly and absolutely non intimidating class you'll enjoy a special evening savoring wine in both the process of cooking and then enhancing our dishes with a perfect selection. You'll learn how to approach, taste and judge wine and the important points to note, common descriptions and how to taste each. You'll come away with some basic templates for putting wine and food together in your kitchen. We'll explore how they interact with each other and the techniques for a wine reduction and its various stages from stock to demi glace. Some of the dishes you'll prepare are, Flat Bread with Marsala Wine, Fig Preserves, Goat Cheese & Arugula, a Roasted Sirloin of Beef with a Red-Wine & Brandy Chasseur Sauce, and a Grilled Polenta Cake with Cherry-Cassis Sauce. Classes run about 3 - 4 hours and start at 6:00 p.m. Fee for class is $55. Reminders will be sent for each class along with directions. This class is offered either the 14th or 15th of September.
